A young Sinjari opens an educational center in the area .

On August 3rd, 2014, the terrorist organization ISIS attacked an educational center for children and destroyed the infrastructure of large areas of the region, including government institutions in villages and compounds in the district. The government neglected the reconstruction of Sinjar district after the liberation of Iraq from terrorism, and that prompted the youth to work to build a future for their region.

Hawass Samir Hasso, an ambitious Sinjari youth, after many attempts with the concerned government agencies and local and international organizations to open an educational center in the region in order to build an educational future for children in the post-ISIS era, everyone remained silent in providing assistance.

Hawass, founder of the Kani Eido Center for Development and Education.
In an exclusive interview with Zewa News. The goal of establishing the center is to raise the scientific level of the students because relying on the school alone has become difficult for some students, especially since most of the parents of students in my area cannot read and write, and since the ISIS attack affected the region greatly.

He explained, “At the center, we rely on the curriculum as a starting point. Our center focuses on letters at the base level because they are the basis of knowledge and link words and letters of the English language. and also mathematics such as numbers, multiplication, subtraction, and division.
He stated, “The number of students who received us as the first batch amounted to 70 students, and there are still many students on the waiting list due to the lack of the ability, stationery, and needs to receive them, but if the possibilities are available, we can receive them because we have vacant rooms.”

As Hawass pointed out, “The center needs help and assistance from the concerned government agencies and organizations operating in the region, as the center needs the necessary needs for the administration , such as tables, chairs, a calculator, a printer and a generator to encourage the center to continue opening the center to serve the region.”
